Work Package 3 - Lung function growth and submaximal lung function attainment in children

 

Objectives

1. To identify novel maternal and early childhood determinants of maximally attained lung function (FEV1, FVC ), incorporating preconception risk factors for asthma and low lung function (linking with ALEC objective 1, and output from WP2)

2. To identify novel maternal and childhood  factors associated with deviations from trajectories of normal lung function growth established in early childhood,  and determine whether the effect of these is modified by genes known to be associated with low lung function and COPD in adults (linking with ALEC objective 1).

3. To integrate knowledge arising from above with other work package activity
